The BBQ Geek app (“the app”) is published by Active Impact, LLC, doing business as The BBQ Geek. It is a set of barbecue cook-time calculators with optional cook alerts. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version
The app does not collect personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your phone.
What stays on your device
- Your cook plans. The weights, temperatures and serving times you enter, and the timeline the app calculates from them, are stored only on your device so the app can show you the same plan the next time you open it.
- Cook alerts. Alerts are local notifications scheduled on your phone by the app itself. They are not sent through any server. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.
- Settings and preferences. Whether you have unlocked BBQ Geek Pro, and your unit preferences, are stored on your device.
None of this leaves your phone.
Purchases
BBQ Geek Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment under . We never see your payment details.
To confirm a purchase and restore it if you reinstall the app or change phones, the app uses , a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app, your App Store purchase receipt, and basic device information (such as the iOS version). It does not receive your name, email address or Apple ID. RevenueCat uses this only to validate and restore purchases.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts or photos.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services.
- We do not show ads or use advertising identifiers.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not sell or share data with anyone.
